1981

ANSON Limited was founded by the Anderson family in Gateshead, North East England, after taking part in discussions with a major Oil Company who requested that a fully certified quality Union connection, preferably manufactured within the United Kingdom, be made available to meet their exacting requirements. At that time, this was not available and the company in question was finding it difficult to source such a connection.

1982

After producing Union samples, and certifying the same, acceptance quickly followed and production started early in 1982.

1983

The business had grown enough to justify opening ANSON’s first satellite facility, and ANSON ABERDEEN opened to provide Sales and Distribution for the North Sea Operational Area.

ANSON expand their manufacturing plant by the addition of 22,000 sq. ft.
Product range expanded to include Union ended Fittings.

1985

ANSON ABERDEEN’s facility expanded to include an additional unit to provide Service and Rental functions.

1986

ANSON obtain Quality standard BS5750 Part 1, the forerunner to ISO 9001. ANSON were the first Flowline company in the world to receive this accreditation.

ANSON introduce their range of Swivel joints and Plug Valves.

1987

Business continued to flourish, especially in the export markets, and this was recognised when ANSON was awarded ‘The Queens Award for Export achievement’.

1988

ANSON received ISO 9001 accreditation replacing the original BS5750.

1991

ANSON further expanded their Gateshead manufacturing facility by the addition of a further 28,000 sq. ft.

This year also saw ANSON receive their second Queens award, this time for Technology, this was granted for the design of the ANSON Longlife Swivel joint.

ANSON Gate Valve range and associated manifolds introduced.

1992

ANSON received Quality accreditation for API Q1

1995

ANSON ABERDEEN's success continued which resulted in the opening of a larger unit allowing the combining of the Sales, Service and Rental functions under one roof.

Our sister company Anson Flowline Equipment Inc., was founded in Houston, Texas, which is responsible for the Sales, Distribution and Servicing needs of the American continents.

ANSON Forged Longsweep Manifold Fittings and Mud Gate Valves introduced.

1998

ANSON Dubai Ltd was opened in the United Arab Emirates to cover ANSON's expanding business in the Middle East and South Asia markets.

A second manufacturing site (South Works) was acquired within 1.5 miles of the original site within Gateshead, which covered 13 acres and housed 185,000 sq. feet of manufacturing space, this was believed to be, the largest single span building in Europe when it was constructed.

ANSON Surface Wellheads and Hydraulic actuators introduced.

2000

Our second sister company Anson Oilfield Equipment Pte Ltd Loyang, was founded in Singapore, to provide Sales and Distribution for the South East Asia and Oceania markets.

2001

Due to continued success ANSON ABERDEEN again was relocated to a larger facility.

ANSON DUBAI’s success led to the addition of a Service and Rental department which in turn required a move to larger facilities to house their expanding support base.

2002

ANSON's manufacturing facility is qualified to CE mark pressure equipment in accordance with EU directive PED97/23/EC module H.

2003

To meet the increasing business in the Gulf of Mexico, Anson Flowline expanded its sales, service and rental functions by opening a facility in Houma, Louisiana. This coincided with the opening of Anson Flowline’s new purpose built facility adjacent to their original site within Houston.

ANSON's manufacturing facility is reassessed and qualified to the new ISO 9001-2000, which became effective during this year.

2004

ANSON design, manufacture and supply the World's first 6.3/8” API 15,000 PSI Surface Test trees.

2005

Manufacturing and Administration was moved to our newly refurbished South Works, the move created an increased manufacturing capability and administration under “one roof”.

2006

ANSON MOSCOW was founded by the opening of a representative office which provides sales and marketing support for the Russian Federation and C.I.S. Countries.

2007

ANSON's Investment in Plant and Personnel continues allowing the company to offer a greater choice of Products, Service and Facilities.

2008

Anson ship their first large major wellhead order to Russia.
